Testimonials

As much as we would like to publish the many testimonials from patients about our care, AHPRA regulations prohibit us and any other registered health professional from doing so.

The reason for this is simple. Health professionals often tend to over-emphasize testimonials from satisfied patients and under-emphasize from dissatisfied patients. We agree, if we were allowed to do it, we would probably leave out messages from dissatisfied patients (yes, we have to be honest, our care does not suit everybody).

This tends to unfairly bias your impression of your health professional.

You can click here to visit the Medical Board of Australia’s guidelines for testimonials.

They are not permitted in any form for any registered medical practitioner or any of the other registered healthcare professions in Australia.

If you see any AHPRA registered health professional posting testimonials on their website, or hanging pictures of them and grateful sports people or well-known individuals draping their arms around them in obvious gratitude, they are breaking the law and should be reported to AHPRA. You might think this is a ridiculous rule/law, but that is the way it is.

So the next time you walk into your surgeon’s waiting room and see a row of snap shots of him or her with all their famous clients, you will realise that this is a form of testimonial, and is illegal in Australia.
